Cognitive Neuroscientist passionate about storytelling with data. I use computational models, neuroimaging, data science and machine-learning to understand human cognition. Currently a Postdoc at UT Austin in the Memory and Aging Lab. I am interested in how we store memories for knowledge and everyday events, how they are later retrieved, and how this changes across the lifespan.

Questions that fascinate me include, but are not limited to:

  • what is the process of human memory search?
  • ‘mental time travel’ is a uniquely human ability to recall past events.
    • how do we retrieve and reconstruct a past event?
    • how does this awareness of the past inform and guide our behaviour?
  • how does our memory for events interact with our existing semantic knowledge of the world?
  • how are events and concepts integrated into a shared memory space?
  • is searching through memory space similar to navigating a physical environment?

I received my PhD in 2022 from Vanderbilt University Computational Memory Lab. My doctoral dissertation was titled Characterizing Memory Space: The Neural Representational Structure of Episodic and Semantic Memory. My undergraduate degree was in Cognitive and Psychological Sciences at the University of Glasgow, Scotland in the Multimodel Neuroscience of Decision Making Lab. I spent my senior years in the Cognitive Science program at the University of California, Berkeley in the Cognition and Action Lab. Following my bachelor degree, I worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Mind & Brain Institute, Charité-Universitätsmedizin, Berlin, Germany.
